Djenga Bike Ride

The D is silent (inside joke). We were referencing the movie DJango all night, only because we watched it and thought it was a great movie. This time we did our bike ride on a Monday since it’s going to rain Tuesday till Friday. We rode from downtown San Diego all the way to Point Loma. We decided to make our stop at Slaters 50/50 for beer and giant Jenga. We even played our own version of Jenga, scroll through the photos and see what it is. The most intense evening of Jenga ever! Hahaha, fun times.

Parachute Factory Art Show

This was the craziest art show I ever been to, if there’s anything like it then I’m missing out for sure! Parachute factory held atleast 30 local artist in one building featuring murals by each artists in different rooms. Two floors of art, $5 cover charge. Not bad at all, I wasn’t mad to pay that $5 cover fee. It was like a portal to a whole different world inside. To see some of the amazing art work by friends and friends of friends was mind blowing. The music and the crowd was another site to see, I love people watching. I love how they dress, act, dance, and interact with each other.

Outside there was a line that stretched all the way down to the corner of the street. That lined last till 11pm, then it died down a little. I spent most of my evening at 5&A Dime for the 9Five release party. When the line died down, me and Tony of Product Etc walked over with his crew and he stood in line with us when he didn’t have to. Product Etc has a wall of their own inside, Tony already has a wrist band on that allowed him to by pass the line and go right in. Once I was inside, first room I visit belongs to my homie Senz Wen. I walked around and took as many photos as I could with my Gopro camera. If you remember my last post I had Katherine Brannock painting her room. I went to check out the final piece and that shit was dope. So this vacant building was used for an art show with nothing for sale since everything was painted on the walls that will remain there. Makes me wonder what they are going to do with it all. With that said, this is why it was an honor to see those pieces and I urge everyone else to check out an art show like this if or when it comes up again.

Congrats to all the artist on such an amazing show and the team behind this all, kudos to you homie.

9Five x Jordan Recap

I had a busy and fulfilling weekend. Friday night at El Dorado was a blur, that’s how a good night out usually are I guess. Saturday evening 9Five eye wear held their release party at the one and only, 5&A Dime. I’m surprised they didn’t have it at their new shop. I haven’t gotten the chance to check out their shop yet so the size may be a major factor? But I’m glad it’s held at the 5D shop which is one of my favorite place to be and ran by my favorite people to see. Celebrating the release of the new 9 Five x Jordan Brand collab frames, came in a small case which look like a shoe box (clever). The frame coated with the gloss black and lime green color way, if you didn’t make it out to cop a pair get them at 5&A Dime and/or 9Five (only 500 made).

I shot these photos with a Gopro, can you believe it? Well believe it! I had to stay super still for a second or two to get a shot. I bet everyone in front of my camera was probably wondering “what the hell is he shooting with, a toy?” Don’t mind me squeezing myself in the shots. I wanted to feel a part of the event in front of the camera instead behind it all the time haha. Food and drinks were provided, Kanye Asada and Virus was there to provide the music. I know they hate getting song requests so I was there to bug them with songs I don’t even want to hear.
